The Mineworker’s Investment Company (MIC) is a 100% black owned broad-based investment holding company that was established by the Mineworkers Investment Trust (MIT).

MIC identifies and invests in long-term cash-generative assets, which are able to generate sustainable dividend flow. The dividends ensure ongoing funding for the Trust’s social and educational projects.

Since 1995, we’ve invested in companies of all sizes and across various sectors, including financial services, health, leisure, business services, industrials, technology and media. However, we are always looking for new investment opportunities, particularly into highly innovative and original ventures.

We provide more than just funding. MIC is an active equity partner and beyond simply providing capital we offer strategic, board-level guidance on corporate governance and transformation.

We have paid more than R700 million in dividends directly to MIT in the last 27 years. MIT have in turn channelled these funds into various social development programmes, including education and training, poverty alleviation and micro-enterprise development. We also add further value through small business support, supplier development, and education projects of our own.
